Hey folks,

I'm trying to update where exactly SMC is with our projects so fans know what's going on.

The lists are in order, pretty much.

UPDATED, SUNDAY, MAY 23RD

Priority:
1. FPFP (Special edition for pre-orders, and MP3 version for webpage visitors)

Current:
1. WB (MT-32 only)
2. ROTD
3. PQ1VGA
4. KQ7
5. LSL5
6. SMC Sierra Music Volume 2 and 3 (old recordings compiled)

Possible future:
1. SQ6
2. LB2
3. LSL3
4. LSL6
5. Reuploads of previous projects, updated (e.g. Pitfall, GK1)
6. MP3 versions of CD's

All other projects ever mentioned can be inferred to be cancelled.

For any other project questions or if I missed one, by any chance, please post!

Regards,
- Alistair

It's good to see that you're still working on this. I wish there was some way I could contribute.

Thanks. Smiley It's tough to work on SMC while between jobs, because looking for work and housework takes up most of my time, but at least it beats working ~ 60 hours/week and having no time to work on SMC.

Soundtrack releases should be arriving in early December.

Kuro,

Silpheed was a project I put on hold mainly due to a lack of interest. If you work on it, I would be extremely happy to use some of what you come up with.

Mainly I would love to see more QFG1 from you, though Wink

Also, folks- I updated the list today.

From October 2009, a formerly private list, has some interesting info.

"Hey folks,

I figured it was about time to update everyone here on where I'm at, so I'm making a post to clarify real quick.

Finished projects awaiting release

- Freddy Pharkas = Soundtrack completed, Josh is signing artwork, Al will afterwards, and I have to burn/assemble everything.

- SMC Sierra Music Volume 3 = dug up some old recordings from 2004/05 and compiled this CD, and most of Volume 2 (see below). Volume 3 is done, 2 needs some finetuning.

Projects in progress (Current)

- Space Quest V = current project. Digital recordings of the MIDI's began last night, I'm very excited about this, a revisit of a CD I finished but never released, in late 2004.
Not sure yet if I will revive the SQ5/6 double project. Probably, since I want to work on it too. SQ6 is on the cards to be done, anyway.

- SMC Sierra Music Volume 2 = dug up some old recordings from 2004/05 and compiled most of this CD, and finished Volume 3 (see above). Volume 3 is done, 2 needs some finetuning.

- Police Quest 1 VGA = beta CD completed in early September. I put this on hold, even with so much done, for 2 reasons. One, there were a lot of things I want to change about the beta. Two, I felt like I kind of got into a musical rut with this project, following ideas too much and not 'what sounds good', which makes for pretty bad results. I'm still hoping to revisit it by the end of the year though.

Future projects

- Rise of the Dragon = MIDI soundtrack finished. Excited about this one too. Will definitely be put on CD this year.

- Willy Beamish = will have to revisit MIDI soundtrack of 03/04 and reedit it a little, after that will record as MT-32 original and possibly put some mixed bonus tracks at the end. MT-32 CD for the most, if not all, though.

Note that this list doesn't count past projects revisited like my remasters of GK1 and so on, which are also in the works.

Regards,
- Alistair"

Updates will be made to the first post of the thread, with a new post at the end to indicate the update.

Regards,
- Alistair

After FPFP the OST I'm looking forward to the most.  Smiley
